During this day tour, you will learn more about the mysterious Thracians, well known for the mythical hero Orpheus (ancient musician and thinker), Spartacus (Roman slave and gladiator, and leader of the historic slave revolt), and the world’s oldest golden treasure.

In Kazanlak, you will visit the History Museum. During our day of Thracian history exploration, you will get the opportunity to observe the magnificent scenery, which the Thracians undoubtedly valued as well. You will stop at a rose distillery because the Valley is also known for rose production.

The Valley of the Thracian Kings, also known as the Valley of the Roses (hub for rose oil production), was the preferred burial ground for Thracian nobles. The most notable site is the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, which is considered a masterpiece of Thracian art. The tomb dates from the late fourth century BC and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site because to its well-preserved and original frescoes.

You will also see the Tomb of Seuthes III (Thracian King), also known as the Golyama Kosmatka mound. The tomb was built in the fifth century BC. It has three chambers and one corridor. The site yielded numerous priceless artifacts and works of art. It is one of the most valuable Thracian burials discovered to date.

The final stop will be to Ostrusha’s tomb, which dates from the 4th century. It is best known for its unusual ceiling, which is a combination of relief and excellent design, with various portraits, colorful characters, and floral embellishments.
