At first glance, the settlement of Rupite is located in south-western Bulgaria, near the town of Petrich. There are no architectural landmarks, large and old temples, or particular museums in the village. However, it was to this village that many afflicted people made their trip. Wanga, the famed seeress-woman, resided and aided people here. She was the foundation of this small village, and because she was already famous, she persuaded the local authorities to build a mansion for her near the Kozhukh hill.
This hill is an ancient volcano whose waters are fed by multiple mineral springs, resulting in the formation of several warm mineral lakes. Aside from the main features of the excursion, we visit the town of Melnik and the Rozhen monastery, with a stop for lunch in one of the restaurants serving traditional Bulgarian food. Time to go shopping for mementos for friends and family. Return to the hotel after the expedition, after lunch.
