We will travel to Lukovit city by highway in the early morning. We will arrive at the Spring of Glava Panega after a 1:30-hour drive. Bulgaria is home to a number of karst springs, but the Glava Panega spring in the Pre-Balkans, which is the source of the Panega River, stands out among them all for having the most water and the greatest scale (a right tributary of the Iskar River). Upper and lower lakes are created by the karst spring itself. Additionally, the local community makes use of a bar for cleaning carpets, rugs, etc. near the lower lake. You must traverse a cave to get to the spring.
We’ll keep going to the Ecotrail Iskar-Panega. The eco trail is approximately 16 km long, but we will only see the first few. At the end of the first part, there is an option wo take boat to the end of the trail.
When that is done, we will go back and continue to the stone homes near Lukovit. We’ll take a quick stroll.
We’ll drive back to Sofia at the end of the day.
